Christmas Tree Harvest

Morgan and I returned home with four trees, one for us and three friends. We went out to the cabin overnight and went tree hunting the next day. While we were gone Fernie had its first real snow dump in town. At last it looks like Christmas. Just have to wait for Quinn and Zoe to arrive home from Victoria and we are ready.

The Paint Has Cured

Well after almost five years the paint in our bathroom has cured, so I can finally do some trim etc. First task at hand was to sand down enough of the old fir floorboards (104 years old) and finish off the windows with some trim.

Also inserted the bathtub skirting which had to be trimmed so it would fit properly. Very tedious job but looks a lot better than a gaping hole. Sorry Plumbob. (this hole was her hiding spot from Kyna when she didn't want to play.) Next on the agenda is a new wood counter top complete with new sink and taps. Will be in for Christmas!!!!

Beard Update

Hey boys...how are the beards coming? Judgment day is only 8 weeks away. Everybody is asking me what the prize is. Any suggestions?

That Time of Year

Snow has arrived in the mountains around Fernie!!! We have even had a couple of flurries around town. Have had the fireplace going for the last couple days...so nice to sit by the fire. I am well on the way to having this winters firewood stored and ready to burn. Only three more truck loads. Fred and Simon came out to lend a much appreciated hand with my last load. We found a dry fir and filled both our trucks up with one tree.

"The Challenge"

Sandy and I just returned from three weeks in Victoria. Had a good time and weather was beautiful. We all spent hours and hours working at 876 Craigflower but our combined efforts produced results. Zoe and Quinn are using the new kitchen in the basement suite.

While in Victoria Quinn challenged myself and Morgan to a beard growing contest. The rules were simple. Grow your beard until Christmas day. Zoe is the official judge... no biases. Of course I accepted the challenge, after all inside every clean-shaven man there is a beard screaming to be let out. I'm including a picture of my beard to date. Clearly I'm headed to the podium. Quinn and Morgan if you want to throw in the towel and declare me the winner I'll understand.
